Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Pospolitszy od poprzedniego (Zygaena cynarae) motylek lata w środowiskach nasłonecznionych łąk, zboczy, brzegów lasów i ugorów, na przytorzach i miedzach. Czas jego lotu przypada na VII i VIII. Gąsienice żerują na komonicy pospolitej i cieciorce od IX do VI z przerwą na sen zimowy. Poczwarka przebywa w oprzędzie barwy w połowie żółtawej, w połowie słomkowej. Odwłok poczwarki znajduje się w żółtawej części oprzędu. Zachowanie się motyli, gąsienic i poczwarek tego gatunku jest podobne do poprzedniego.
