Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 2000:

Gatunek mało znany, podobny do pospolitego Ampedus pomorum (Herbst), stosunkowo niedawno opisany z Saksonii Dolnej; notowany dotychczas z kilku prowincji niemieckich oraz z Czech, Moraw i Słowacji. Z Polski wykazany na podstawie jednego okazu złowionego w pierwszej połowie XX wieku przez J. Kniephofa, a przechowywanego w Zoologisches Museum, Berlin. Biologia tego sprężyka nie jest poznana; postacie dojrzałe poławiano pod zmurszałą korą i w rudognijącym drewnie dębów — Quercus L. i buków — Fagus L.
