Taxon description
Gatunek palearktyczny, występujący w całej Europie, na północ sięgający do Islandii i północnej części Fennoskandii. Przez niektórych autorów uważany za gatunek kosmopolityczny. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Poławiany w ściółce, spróchniałych pieńkach, wśród mchów, w gnijących grzybach i pod ekskrementami.
