Taxon description
Europa, Zakaukazie, Azja Środkowa.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje w małych koloniach na spodniej stronie liści iwy — Salix caprea L., łozy — Salix cinerea L. i wierzby uszatej — Salix aurita L. Kolonie tej mszycy odwiedzane są zawsze przez mrówki. Występuje w kilku odmianach barwnych i tworzy prawdopodobnie rasy fizjologiczne.
