Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Szeroko rozmieszczony gatunek borealno-górski, rozsiedlony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem południowych części, na wschód przez Syberię sięga aż do Kamczatki i Japonii, w Fennoskandii dociera do skrajnych północnych obszarów. W Polsce znajdowany tylko na południowych, górskich i podgórskich terenach. Żyje w czystych potokach i strumieniach oraz w kałużach przez nie utworzonych, rzadko spotykany w jeziorach górskich zasilanych przez wody strumieni.
