Burakowski et al. 1976:

Borealno-górski gatunek zamieszkujący północną i środkową Europę, Syberię po Bajkał oraz Mongolię. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany w strumieniach i potokach oraz kałużach o dnie piaszczystym lub kamienistym, rzadziej w jeziorach.
