Syberia, Mongolia; w Europie rozmieszczenie typu borealno-alpejskiego.
Gatunek holocykliczny o nie znanym bliżej cyklu rozwojowym. Prawdopodobnie różnodomny. Żyje wiosną na topoli czarnej — Populus nigra L. w dużych, od dołu szeroko otwartych wypuklinach liści.
