Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek szeroko rozsiedlony w prawie całej Europie (z wyjątkiem skrajnych obszarów Skandynawii), na wschód przez Syberię sięgający po Japonię. W Polsce spotykany na nielicznych stanowiskach, głównie na terenach nizinnych i wyżynnych. Występuje w wilgotnych dolinach rzecznych, na pobrzeżach lasów i w zaroślach, rowach, na bagnach i mokrych łąkach. Żyje na rdeście łagodnym — Polygonum mite Schrk. i rdeście ostrogorzkim — P. hydropiper L. Larwa żeruje na dolnej stronie liścia, ale obgryza również łodygę; przepoczwarcza się w okrągławym kokonie na miejscu żerowania.
