Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w środkowej i północnej części Europy, na wschód dociera do Syberii po Bajkał i Jakucję. Bruzdkowiec wschodni w Polsce zamieszkuje głównie obszar północnego zasięgu świerka, od niedawna zaczyna przenikać do jego zasięgu południowego. Głównym żywicielem jest świerk; spotykany rzadko na sośnie, jodle i modrzewiu. Opada przeważnie drzewa stojące. Gatunek wielożenny; chodniki macierzyste wieloramienne, podłużne, nie odbite w bielu, lub zaznaczone nieznacznie na bielu cienkich gałęzi. Zimuje w stadium owada dojrzałego. Roi się w maju-czerwcu. Cykl rozwojowy jednoroczny. Niekiedy występuje generacja siostrzana.
