Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1980:

Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w środkowej Europie, na południe sięgający do północnych części Hiszpanii i Włoch, a na północ do Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych części Fennoskandii. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk. Dane z Gdańska i ogólnikowe z Prus dotyczą, według A. Horiona (1967), Tachyporus atriceps Steph. Żyje w środowiskach wilgotnych. Spotykany głównie na bagnach, łąkach i pobrzeżach wód pod opadłymi liśćmi, napływkami, wśród mchów i korzeni traw.
