Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną Europę, sięga aż poza koło podbiegunowe, podawany też z Kaukazu i Syberii. W Polsce dość rzadko spotykany. Błędnie wykazany przez T. Trellę (1926) z Beskidu Wschodniego (okolice Przemyśla), jedyny okaz dowodowy, sprawdzony przez J. Makólskiego, należy do Agonum (Europhilus) micans (Nic). Występuje na płaskich, szlamistych, niekiedy gliniastych pobrzeżach wód stojących lub wolno płynących, znajdowany również na bagnistych terenach leśnych i torfowiskach wysokich.
