Taxon description
Gatunek europejski, o niedostatecznie poznanym zasięgu występowania. Na północ dociera do Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii, południowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii oraz Karelii. W Polsce notowany tylko z sześciu krain. Występuje na torfowiskach. Żeruje i odbywa rozwój na brzozie omszonej — Betula pubescens Ehrh. i b. niskiej — B. humilis Schr., niekiedy spotykany także na brzozie brodawkowatej — B. verrucosa Ehrh.
