Taxon description
Gatunek palearktyczny; w Europie sięga na północ do środkowych prowincji Fennoskandii, a najdalej na wschód leżące stanowiska znajdują się w zachodniej Syberii, Himalajach i Afganistanie; ponadto z balastem okrętowym został zawleczony na zachodnie wybrzeża Ameryki Północnej. W Europie Środkowej i w Polsce jeden z najpospolitszych gatunków omawianego rodzaju. Występuje na obszarze całej Polski. Zasiedla otwarte przestrzenie pokryte niską, roślinnością, przedkłada nad inne cieple, średnio wilgotne gleby piaszczyste, ale nie wydmowe; bardzo często spotykany na gruntach uprawnych.
