Taxon description
Gatunek słonawiskowy, zasiedla w Europie wybrzeża morskie Bałtyku, Morza Północnego, Atlantyku (do południowej części Francji), Morza Czarnego i Morza Kaspijskiego oraz spotykany na niektórych słonawiskach śródlądowych w Europie Środkowej i Rumunii, wykazywany również w okolicach miast na wysypiskach śmieci (prawdopodobnie zawierających sól), poza tym notowany z Kaukazu i południowej części Syberii. Według M. Fassatiego (1944) występuje w dwu formach uznawanych przez niego jako odrębne podgatunki: forma śródlądowa należy do podgatunku Amara (Curtonotus) convexiuscula bohemica Fass., a żyjąca nad morzem do podgatunku nominatywnego.
