Taxon description
Gatunek euro-syberyjski, niedawno zawleczony do Ameryki Północnej, rozpowszechniony w całej Europie, na północy przekracza koło podbiegunowe. Zasiedla przeważnie suche gleby piaszczyste, często prawie jałowe, na miejscach otwartych, niekiedy tylko słabo ocienionych. Prowadzi ukryty sposób życia w glebie na lekkich gruntach uprawnych, ugorach, wydmach nadmorskich i ławicach piasku nad brzegami wód.
