Heintze 1990:

Motyl dość pospolity w środowiskach leśnych, w parkach i ogrodach lata od końca VII do pocz. X. Gąsienice żerują od IV do VI na wielu gatunkach roślin zielnych i przejściowo na miękkich trawach. Przepoczwarczenie następuje w oprzędach między liśćmi na ziemi. Zimują jaja.
