Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w Europie południowej, zachodniej i środkowej, notowany również z Algierii. W Polsce należy do wielkich rzadkości. Znany tylko z jednego stanowiska. Omyłkowo wykazany poza tym z okolicy Koszarawy w Beskidzie Zachodnim (Wachtl 1870) na podstawie źle oznaczonego okazu (M. Nowicki 1873). Wymagania ekologiczne i bionomia nie są poznane. Chrząszcza tego F. Osterloff znalazł na kwitnącym szakłaku pospolitym — Rhamnus cathartica L.
