Taxon description
Gatunek występujący na terenach górzystych w Europie południowej oraz w południowej części Europy środkowej, notowany też z Tunezji. W obrębie swego areału tworzy kilka ras geograficznych. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo mało znany, stosunkowo niedawno odkryty w naszych Tatrach. Ogólnikowa wzmianka w ubiegłym stuleciu o występowaniu omawianego chrząszcza na Śląsku, nie znalazła później nigdzie potwierdzenia.
