Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony od południowej Francji, środkowych Włoch oraz Grecji, przez Europę Środkową do południowej części Fennoskandii nadto notowany z Kaukazu i zachodniej Syberii. Zamieszkuje bardzo wilgotne i zacienione pobrzeża wód stojących, zarówno dużych jezior jak i zupełnie małych kałuż, spotykany często wśród mchu i pod liśćmi w towarzystwie Badister (Baudia) peltatus (Panz.).
