Gatunek zamieszkujący wschodnią część Europy i jako synantrop wykazywany z Europy środkowej i południowej części Europy Północnej, ponadto notowany z Kaukazu, Zakaukazia, Azji Mniejszej i Iranu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach, kraju. Spotykany w starych budynkach, stajniach, szopach, piwnicach i magazynach,
