Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony prawie w całej Europie (nie znany z południowych obszarów półwyspów Iberyjskiego i Apenińskiego), wykazywany poza tym z Syberii. W Polsce choć dość pospolity, stosunkowo rzadko notowany. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od maja do września na pobrzeżach lasu i na wrzosowiskach. Przebywały one na kwiatach krwawników (Achillea L.), przytulii (Galium L.), trzcinników (Calamagrostis Adans.) i wrzośca bagiennego — Erica tetralix L. Larwy spotykano w zmurszałych gałęziach sosnowych stykających się z glebą piaszczystą.
