Taxon description
Gatunek Ch. (H.) carpathica Fuss zasiedla Sudety i Karpaty, tworząc na tym obszarze dwa podgatunki. Podgatunek nominotypowy obejmuje zasięgiem południową i południowo-wschodnią część Karpat, a pozostałą część obszaru podgatunek Ch. (H.) carpathica gabrieli (J. Weise). W Polsce chrząszcz należy do rzadkości. Pewne jego stanowiska leżą w Tatrach. Według A. Warchałowskiego z Beskidu Zachodniego znany tylko z jednego okazu złowionego przed kilkudziesięciu laty, «prawdopodobnie na Babiej Górze». Omyłkowo wykazany z doliny Czerczy między Piwniczną a Pieninami przez Sz. Tenenbauma (1925b), co później (1926) ten sam autor sprostował. Bionomia tego chrząszcza, jak również roślina żywicielska nie są znane. Chrząszcze zwykle spotyka się pod kamieniami.
