Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w Holarktyce, w Europie docierający do skrajnych prowincji północnych. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano w ciągu całego roku, w zimie w ściółce, wśród mchów i pod kamieniami, a po wylewach rzek w napływkach. Jako rośliny żywicielskie były podawane różne gatunki należące do rodziny wargowych (Labiatae), głównie mięty — Mentha L., szałwie — Salvia L., lebiodka pospolita — Origanum vulgare L.
