Taxon description
Gatunek występujący w środkowej i północnej części Europy, sięgający w Fennoskandii daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, na wschód docierający do Syberii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Poza datami i miejscami połowów, rozwój tego ryjkowca i jego bionomia nie są znane. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano w marcu, kwietniu, maju i lipcu na następujących wierzbach: wierzba iwa — Salix caprea L., wierzba szara — S. cinerea L., wierzba uszata — S. aurita L. i wierzba purpurowa — S. purpurea L.
