Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1974:

Gatunek znany ze stosunkowo nielicznych stanowisk z Polski i południowo-wschodniej europejskiej części ZSRR. Rozmieszczenie ogólne wymaga dokładniejszych badań, gdyż był mylony z Dromius (Dromius) agilis (F.) i Dromius (Dromius) quadraticollis A. Mor. W Polsce znaleziony poraź pierwszy w Puławach w r. 1924. Według J. Makólskiego (1952) pojawił się u nas dopiero w bieżącym stuleciu, szeroko się rozprzestrzenił, jednak nie przekroczył jeszcze zachodnich granic. Warunki ekologiczne słabo zbadane. W Polsce łowiony głównie na zimowiskach pod odstającą korą żywych drzew, zwłaszcza przy podstawie pni dębów, olch i topoli.
