Taxon description
Gatunek środkowoeuropejski, który izolowanymi stanowiskami dociera do Danii, Szwecji południowej, Francji, Siedmiogrodu i Grecji. Chrząszcz zaliczany do rzadkości i uważany za relikt lasów pierwotnych; w niektórych krajach wyginął w XX wieku na skutek wycięcia starych lasów. W Polsce znany tylko z czterech stanowisk. Występuje w hubach i grzybach na starych drzewach, zwłaszcza dębach, bukach, wierzbach i olchach.
