Taxon description
Motyl równie pospolity, jak E. autumnaria pojawia się w przypadku wczesnej wiosny w dwu pokoleniach. Lata wtedy w końcu VI i na początku VII i drugi raz w IX, lub też pojawia się od końca VII do IX. Gąsienice żerują od V do VIII na dębach, wierzbach, brzozach, lipach i bukach. Gąsienice budują oprzędy podobnie, jak u poprzedniego gatunku (E. autumnaria). Zimują jaja. Mają one kształt płaskich cegiełek i są składane złożami w większej ilości sztuk w jednym miejscu. Jaja w złożu ułożone są półkolistymi rzędami.
