Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1974:

Z uwagi na mylenie omawianego gatunku z Harpalus (Harpalus) dimidiatus (Rossi), rozmieszczenie ogólne poznane niedostatecznie. Wykazywany z wschodniej i środkowej Europy. W Polsce rzadko i pojedynczo znajdowany. Warunki ekologiczne słabo poznane. Według własnych danych na Wyżynie Małopolskiej spotykany na nasłonecznionych glebach piaszczystych, gliniastych i wapiennych, pokrytych licznymi kamieniami oraz skąpo porośniętych niską roślinnością trawiastą lub bylinami (B. Burakowski*).
