Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1976:

Gatunek europejski, reprezentujący borealno-alpejski typ rozprzestrzenienia. Wykazywany z wyższych partii górskich całej Europy, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych, północnych prowincji (nie znany z południowej Szwecji). W Polsce bardzo rzadko poławiany. Z Sudetów wykazany jedynie na podstawie okazów złowionych przed stu laty. O obecnym występowaniu w Sudetach i w ogóle na Śląsku wątpi A. Horion (1949, 1951). Z Babiej Góry omyłkowo notowany przez St. Stobieckiego (1883), odnośny okaz dowodowy należał do innego gatunku (Holdhaus u Lindrotha 1939), jednak z tego samego terenu ponownie wykazany na podstawie materiałów zebranych przez J. Pawłowskiego (1963b, 1967). Poławiany głównie w wodach stojących w strefie kosodrzewiny.
