Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1973:
Gatunek południowoeuropejski, rozmieszczony od Hiszpanii po Azję Mniejszą, podawany także z Francji, południowej Anglii, Austrii i NRF. Występuje w ciepłych, wapiennych biotopach Stanowiska w Karkonoszach, jak i występowanie tego gatunku w Polsce wymagają potwierdzenia, gdyż bywał mylony z innymi gatunkami, zwłaszcza z podobnym Leistus (Pogonophorus) montanus Steph. Ze względu na ogólne rozmieszczenie na pewno nie występuje na Nizinie Wielkopolsko-Kujawskiej. Okazy z Babiej Góry należą do Leistus (Pogonophorus) montanus Steph. (Roubal 1930, J. Pawłowski 1964) dane o występowaniu w okolicach Przemyśla (Trella 1930c) oparte były na mylnie oznaczonym Leistus (Pogonophorus) rufomarginatus (Duft.) (J. Makólski*); nie zasiedla Bieszczadów, jak i całych Karpat (Lazorko 1963). Dane ze Śląska niepewne (Horion 1951).
