Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1987:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w północnej i środkowej części Europy oraz lokalnie w Europie południowej, notowany poza tym z Syberii. W Polsce, aczkolwiek brak jeszcze udokumentowanych danych o jego występowaniu w niektórych krainach, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Gatunek mrowiskowy, spotykany licznie w gniazdach, głównie Formica pratensis Retzius, rzadziej Formica rufa L. i F. exsecta Nylander.
