Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1983:

Gatunek niedawno opisany, głównie z Polski, dlatego też jego rozmieszczenie ogólne jest słabo poznane. Poza Polską notowany z nielicznych, przeważnie pojedynczych stanowisk w NRD, RFN, Belgii, Francji południowej, Austrii, Czechosłowacji, Ukraińskiej SRR i Bułgarii. U nas szeroko rozprzestrzeniony, w miejscach pojawu występuje często masowo, zwłaszcza na pogórzu i w górach. Występuje późną wiosną i latem na otwartych, nasłonecznionych terenach w ekskrementach bydła i owiec, przeważnie razem z Onthophagus ovatus (L.).
