Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1987:
Gatunek kontynentalny, występujący w południowo-wschodniej i środkowej części Europy, na zachód docierający do Francji południowej i środkowej oraz Włoch północnych, notowany nadto z Kaukazu i Syberii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk w trzech krainach południowych. Z uwagi na rozmieszczenie ogólne, dawne dane o występowaniu na Pobrzeżu Bałtyku są niewiarygodne. Chrząszcz kserofilny, występujący na stepach i zboczach trawiastych, ciepłych, piaszczystych miejscach, pod kamieniami, bryłami ziemi, suchymi ekskrementami i szczątkami roślin.
