Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w południowej i środkowej Europie oraz południowej części północnej Europy, podawany też z północnej Afryki i Zakaukazia. W Polsce prócz wysokich gór prawdopodobnie występuje wszędzie, ale brak udokumentowanych danych z wielu krain. Zasiedla głównie wody stojące lub bardzo wolno płynące, spotykany zwłaszcza w stawach, starorzeczach, gliniankach i rowach, zarośniętych przez gatunki roślin z rodzajów rzęśl — Callitriche L., włosienicznik — Batrachium S. F. Gray, moczarka — Elodea Rich in Mich., nadto przez różne glony nitkowate.
