Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w Europie południowej oraz lokalnie w Europie środkowej. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko notowany, znany tylko z trzech krain zachodnich. Omyłkowo według G. Schmidta (1935) wykazany z okolic Koszalina (Lüllwitz 1914, 1916) na podstawie błędnego oznaczenia Netocia metallica (Herbst). Zamieszkuje lasy liściaste; larwy rozwijają się w biało murszejącym drewnie, zwłaszcza dębów opanowanych przez kozioroga dębosza — Cerambyx cerdo L. Postacie dorosłe żerują na kwiatach i wypływającym soku z drzew. Poławiane są od wiosny do późnego lata.
