Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony prawie w całej Palearktyce, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych obszarów północnych. W Polsce chrząszcz pospolity na całym obszarze, notowany wielokrotnie przez licznych autorów, nie wykazywany jeszcze tylko ze Wzgórz Trzebnickich. Żyje na różnych gatunkach koniczyn, z których w piśmiennictwie wymieniane są koniczyna łąkowa — Trifolium pratense L., koniczyna biała — T. repens L., koniczyna białoróżowa — T. hybridum L., koniczyna pogięta — T. medium L., koniczyna złocistożólta — T. strepens Cr. i koniczyna kasztanowata — T. spadiceum L. Larwa żeruje i odbywa rozwój w główkach kwiatowych powodując ich zniekształcenia.
