Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1979:
Gatunek palearktyczny, w Europie na północ sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, notowany również z Ameryki Północnej. Najczęściej spotykany gatunek omawianego rodzaju w środkowej Europie. Występuje zarówno na niżu jak i w górach, gdzie sięga do strefy subalpejskiej. Żyje w gnijących grzybach, spotykany niekiedy również pod opadłym listowiem, butwiejącą słomą oraz w nawozie.
