Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony na obszarze Palearktyki (z wyjątkiem Afryki Północnej), docierający w Europie do koła podbiegunowego. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie jest wykazany jeszcze z pięciu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na obszarze całego kraju. Występuje w lasach i starych parkach, na wilgotnych łąkach, aluwiach rzecznych, przydrożach i zrębach. Żyje na młodych odroślach topoli białej — Populus alba L. i topoli osiki — P. tremula L. Bionomia i cykl rozwojowy tego ryjkowca nie są znane.
