Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990b:
Gatunek Timarcha (T.) rugulosa Herrich-Schaeffer tworzy kilka podgatunków, których wartość taksonomiczna jest często podważana. Okazy zaliczane do podgatunku T. (T.) r. lomnickii Mill. były notowane z Polski, Wołynia, Podola, Słowacji i Węgier. Podgatunek nominotypowy znany jest tylko z Rumunii. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, notowany z nielicznych stanowisk rozmieszczonych na przedgórzach Beskidów i Bieszczadów oraz na Roztoczu i Wyżynie Lubelskiej. Występuje na polanach śródleśnych, poboczach lasów i w zaroślach kserotermicznych, zawsze na nasłonecznionych stanowiskach. Chrząszcze spotyka się zwykle łażące po ziemi, rzadziej na roślinach zielnych. Żerujące larwy były łowione na przytulił pospolitej — Galium mollugo L.
