Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w Europie od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii do Pirenejów, środkowych Włoch, Siedmiogrodu i północnego Bałkanu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk zarówno na terenach nizinnych, jak i górzystych. Spotykany pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, w dziuplach starych drzew, wśród mchów, w gniazdach mrówek z rodzajów Formica L. i Lasius Fabr.
