Taxon description
Pospolity, szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek od zachodniej części Europy aż do wschodnich krańców Syberii; w Fennoskandii przekracza koło podbiegunowe, notowany nadto z Azji Mniejszej i Kaukazu, zawleczony do Ameryki Północnej. Zasiedla głównie otwarte, suche, nasłonecznione tereny, szczególnie na glebach piaszczystych i gliniastych. Spotykany często na polach uprawnych, ugorach i innych miejscach ruderalnych.
