Heintze 1990:

Motyl pospolicie występujący od poł. V do poł. VIII. Gąsienice żerują gromadnie od VII do IX na kasztanowcu, klonie, lipie, dębie, topoli, wierzbie, leszczynie, brzozie i wiązie. W środowiskach miejskich często spotykane na drzewach ulicznych. Zimują poczwarki w mocnych, cienkich, brązowoszarych oprzędach w pęknięciach kory, szparach murów lub na ziemi między liśćmi.
