Taxon description

Heintze 1990:

Pospolity i w wielu środowiskach spotykany gatunek. Występuje w dwu pokoleniach: motyl lata od poł. IV do VI oraz w VII i VIII. Gąsienice, żerujące pojedynczo lub po kilka na drzewach liściastych, jak wierzby, brzozy, topole (również osiki), dęby oraz innych roślinach, jak jagoda czernica, żarnowiec, wilczomlecz pojawiają się w VI oraz w VIII, IX. Zimują poczwarki w mocnych, brudnobiałych oprzędach między liśćmi nad ziemią lub na ziemi.
