Taxon description
Prószyński et Staręga 1971:
Bardzo rzadki gatunek, znany z nielicznych okazów złowionych we wschodnich Niemczech, na Węgrzech, w Bułgarii i na Uralu. Być może jest on identyczny z Araneus saevus (L. Koch, 1872) lub również z Araneus sinister (Thorell, 1873), jak przypuszcza Wiehle (1931) – wówczas jego zasięg obejmowałby całą środkową i wschodnią Europę. W Polsce znaleziony tylko przez Kulczyńskiego i Barana, dane BÖSenberga (1901) i F. Dahla (1901b), mimo iż obaj piszą, «Schlesien», odnoszą się do Łużyc. Żyje prawdopodobnie w lasach sosnowych.
