Znany dotąd z Anglii, Danii, Niemiec i Polski.
Gatunek jednodomny i holocykliczny. Monofag na świerzbnicy polnej — Knautia arvensis (L.) Coult. Żeruje na spodniej stronie przyziemnych liści.
