Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną część Europy, sięgający za koło podbiegunowe, a na wschód poza Ural. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko i sporadycznie znajdowany, wykazywany przeważnie z pojedynczych stanowisk w poszczególnych krainach, z wielu obszarów brak udokumentowanych danych o jego występowaniu. Spotykany od maja do sierpnia na terenach nizinnych i górzystych, przeważnie na pobrzeżach lasów, dróg śródleśnych i porębach, również często w pobliżu wód. Jako rośliny pokarmowe piśmiennictwo podaje wierzbę iwę — Salix caprea L., dęby, brzozy, głogi i leszczynę.
