Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący w środkowej i południowej części Europy, notowany ponadto z Syberii Zachodniej. W Polsce spotykany rzadko i sporadycznie; wykazywany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju, przy czym w niektórych krainach w XX wieku nie łowiony. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i górzystych. Chrząszcz ciepłolubny, zasiedlający nasłonecznione zbocza i poręby, w środowiskach kserotermicznych zwykle liczny. Spotyka się go w czerwcu i lipcu na różnych krzewach i drzewach liściastych oraz roślinach zielnych z rodziny złożonych. Jako roślina żywicielska jest wymieniana wierzba iwa — Salix caprea L.
