Taxon description
Gatunek mało znany, aczkolwiek opisany przed przeszło stu laty z Francji, wykazywany z nielicznych stanowisk z południowej Skandynawii, Danii, krajów Beneluksu, zachodnich Niemiec, Czech, Moraw i Słowacji. W Polsce znany z jednego okazu złowionego 17 VI 1995 r. do pułapki typu ekranowego. Chrząszcz bardzo rzadko spotykany. Rozwój odbywa w gniazdach szerszeni — Vespa crabro L.; postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się jesienią i zimują.
