Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek górski, obejmujący zasięgiem Las Czeski, Alpy Wschodnie, Sudety i Karpaty. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, notowany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko z pięciu krain południowych. O wiadomościach ze Śląska pisze Letzner (1876, 1883g), że dane te prawdopodobnie oparte były na błędnie oznaczonych okazach. Występuje na łąkach wilgotnych, pobrzeżach lasu i w zaroślach. Bionomia tego ryjkowca jest poznana fragmentarycznie. We Francji obserwowano larwy na świerzbnicy leśnej — Knautia silvatica (L.) Duby. L. Dieckmann (1989) hodował larwy, żerujące na krwawniku pospolitym — Achillea millefolium L.; przed przepoczwarczeniem larwy wytwarzały żółtobiały, siateczkowany kokon.
