Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1978:

Gatunek zasiedlający prawie całą Palearktykę, wykazany ponadto z Indii. W Polsce dość rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, z wyjątkiem wysokich gór prawdopodobnie występuje wszędzie, ale brak udokumentowanych danych z wielu krain. Występuje na wilgotnych miejscach przy pobrzeżach lasów, nad kałużami, wielokrotnie pod napływkami; znajdowany przeważnie pod gnijącymi resztkami roślinnymi, w kompoście, butwiejącym, miękkim drewnie, rzadziej w gniazdach ptaków.
